It <span lang=\"EN-GB\">serves as a think tank for educational matters for the university<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span>and is made up of members called \u2018Fellows\u2019 and headed by an Executive Council.<\/p>\n<div class=\"row text-center eheight mb-break-560\">\n<div class=\"col-xs-6 col\">\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/verzinc.com\/live_nusta\/wp-content\/themes\/nus\/img\/tempt\/vision.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"ecol\" style=\"background: #f5f5f5; padding: 15px; height: 74px;\"><span>To provide an authentic voice on teaching and learning<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-xs-6 col\">\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/verzinc.com\/live_nusta\/wp-content\/themes\/nus\/img\/tempt\/mission.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"ecol\" style=\"background: #f5f5f5; padding: 15px;\"><span>To engage every section of the NUS community in transforming the educational landscape of the university<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Aims and Purposes<\/h4>\n<p><strong>The aims of the Teaching Academy are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\"><span> <\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">To champion teaching and learning at NUS, and reaffirm the centrality of the educational mission of NUS<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\"><\/span>To provide a platform to enable teachers to connect with each other, share their expertise and experiment with new pedagogies<\/li>\n<li>To confer recognition and give visibility to members of the NUS teaching community who have excelled in teaching and who have contributed to enhancing the quality of education at NUS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>Functions and Activities<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><strong><span>Fellows of the Academy may<\/span>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\"><span> <\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Serve as members of university-level committees (e.g. UCEP, UTEC) and\/or taskforces working on new education initiatives, and be invited to provide input to key university review committees<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\"><\/span>Assist in the review of existing educational processes (e.g. student feedback and peer review system) and highlight to Senior Management matters of concern to the broader NUS teaching community<\/li>\n<li>Function as ambassadors and connectors between university\/CDTL and faculty colleagues, and between university and other external partners<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">NUS Staff who wish to be a part of the Teaching Academy, please <a href=\"https:\/\/verzinc.com\/live_nusta\/about-us\/induction-of-fellows\/\">click here<\/a> for information on the induction process.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The NUS Teaching Academy was established on 24 April 2009 as a unit under the Office of the Provost.
